Gilbert police will request charges be filed against a Higley Unified School District bus driver and three teenage students in connection with scuffle on a school bus Feb. 15, police said Friday.
Police are asking the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office to charge driver Kim Sullivan, 54, with aggravated assault (intentional touching of a child 15 and under) and disorderly conduct - fighting; Samantha Taylor, 15, with aggravated assault of a school employee and disorderly conduct - fighting; and Cassandra Schlosser, 14, and Erin Sullivan, 16, both with disorderly conduct - fighting.
The incident, recorded on video from a camera above the bus driver’s seat, began after Taylor, a student at Williams Field High School, asked to get off the bus, which the driver had stopped to quiet the students.
A confrontation ensued between the student and driver, and Schlosser and Erin Sullivan, the driver’s daughter, became involved.
The three girls have been suspended from school and the driver has been put on paid leave by the district.
